Thug Chemist enthusiastically shared, “The much-anticipated EP by Magano is poised for a widespread release across all major digital platforms, and fans can expect to dive into its rich soundscape no later than March 27, 2024.”
In the heart of the excitement is Magano, the US-based songstress, as she readies herself to commemorate the unveiling of her seven-track EP, titled ‘Blend & Mend Again.’ The EP is the creative brainchild of Lloyd “Thug Chemist” Roberts under the banner of Thug Chemist Musik, and he holds high expectations for Magano, affectionately known as New York chinaware, to deliver a stellar performance.
Speaking about Magano’s prowess, Thug Chemist remarked, “She is a living talent; experienced, professional, and people-friendly. She has graced stages in numerous countries alongside reggae luminaries like Freddie McGregor, Tony Rebel, and Gregory Isaacs.”
Magano’s musical journey includes a notable remake of the Abyssinians’ ‘Satta Massagana,’ a classic Jamaican roots reggae anthem. The group, renowned for their harmonies and Rastafari-themed lyrics, catapulted the song to success. Despite various cover versions, Magano stands out as the sole female artist to achieve success with this track.
Thug Chemist proudly acknowledges Magano’s historic achievement, stating, “One could easily say Magano is history in her own right. She has made the song her own because of her unique blend of reggae punchlines and her smooth harmonizing flavor. It is receiving heavy rotation on mainstream radio, especially in Europe.”
The EP, featuring tracks like ‘Strong Woman,’ ‘Blend & Mend Again,’ and ‘Block And Delete,’ is set to showcase Magano’s multifaceted talent. The empowering ‘Strong Woman’ is complemented by a music video available on all digital platforms.
Magano herself shares insights into the significance of ‘Strong Woman,’ stating, “The song is giving women the strength to, not only be independent, but to believe they can achieve what appears to be impossible. The song has given me a lot of respect from even men who still believe men should be masters and leaders in society.”
Embarking on this EP journey since early 2023, Magano looks forward to further exposing her talent, versatility, and captivating stage presence. Born Andrea Sawyers in Clarendon, Jamaica, Magano’s artistic journey began at Clarendon College, where she initially showcased her writing and performing skills.
Reflecting on her earlier experiences, Magano recalls, “I was involved in drama and even entered a modeling competition. Later I was an event planner, which stood out as a major part of my achievements.” Since migrating to New York, she has become a staple weekend performer in local nightclubs, establishing herself as a household name in the music scene.
