Educationally grounded, Vassell Meka pursued music education at the Edna Manley College of the visual and performing arts in Kingston, Jamaica. Furthering his studies in music education and business at Mico University, he has honed his skills both as an educator and a musician. His journey led him to teach music education at secondary and primary levels in Jamaica before relocating to the United States, where he currently works in the special education field while passionately pursuing his music career.

Beyond his roles as a recording artist and producer, Meka’s diverse talents shine in his work with children affected by various social and emotional disorders. Finding joy in making a positive impact, he brings his love for music into the realm of education.

Having served as a former drummer and percussionist, Vassell Meka has graced stages in Jamaica and North America, collaborating with a diverse array of artists, including Chiliguys, New Awtical Band, Minori, and Caleb Hart. His production skills under his label imprint played a pivotal role in the creation of Chiliguys and contributed to the success of their debut album “Love, Papa,” which soared to the number one spot on the US reggae charts. Through his multifaceted career, Vassell Meka continues to leave an indelible mark on the music scene, celebrating his Jamaican heritage while making a global impact.
